ELI n Such!!

woa! haven't been bloggin' for a while now. Well, lotsa things happened in the last couple of weeks. My holidays are almost up :'( (the last OFFICIAL long holiday of my life)! Oh no!! My work starts on Monday! Get this, my work's gonna start in a couple of days, n i've no idea what are my working hours, or how's my job like, or who am i suppose to see when i go to the office on Mon, n i dun even know where is my office!! Crazy ey? Well, my mum's HR ppl are not giving me the info i need!! But anyway, will go find the way to the office on sat, n juz see wat happens on Mon... hehe

I went for this ELI camp last friday. Can't remember what ELI stands for, but its a leadership camp organized by GMT (Global Missions Team). The camp was not open to everyone, its only for those that they invite. We stayed in a house in cheras. I attended this camp with Clarance, Anna, and Pei Yin. It was an awesome experience. At first when i reached there, i was like, OH NO, i dun think i'll survive three days here. The environment wasn't very "friendly", as in, all 12 guys had to sleep in the hall, on the floor, n the girls had to sleep on some dusty, scary beds upstairs, n we had to have our baths really early in the mornin (coz the session starts early) n there was no water heater, therefore we had to shower in ICY COLD water!! The four of us were speechless. Then, when we looked at the schedule, we almost fainted!! It was scary! We only had like an hour break in the morning (6am - 7am) for breakfast, n an hour break for lunch, and an hour break for dinner. The rest of the day from 7am to about 12am is juz non-stop training sessions, and prayer, and praise & worship!

At first i regreted coming. But as the sessions started, it was getting better n better. Overall, the camp was excellent. The tight schedule wasn't an obstacle, it was an honour. I had the privilige to meet God evry minute, and the experiences were superb. I guess, i can speak for all of us when i say that the camp made a difference in our lives. The tight schedule and intensive, overload training & exercises were actually really fun & superb. On the second day, during one of the sessions, they gave us a field exercise, where we had to break into two groups and be dropped off at two different areas in KL and to get our survey done. They dropped off one group at Chow Kit, and the other at SOGO shopping mall. Those that were dropped in chow kit were suppose to get a survey done on Godly sexuallity, and the other group had to study on The Influence of Media. We had to attain the answers to our research questions, by observing the environment, and interviewing the ppl, including the prostitutes and the transexuals at chow kit. Clarance & Anna were in the chow kit group. I & Pei Yin were in the other group.

There were also about another 16 campers at the camp, not including the facillitators. Most of them were foreigners from Nigeria, and China. It was a great experience, n the ppl there were really genuine, nice ppl. We loved it, although we were knocked out of our COMFORT zones, literally! haha...

well, in case you're wonderin, we didnt come back as pharisees or some religious freaks... haha... we're still the same genuine, down-to-earth, god-lovin' PEOPLE! hehe.... But we're humans n we have our flaws, n this camp gave us the opportunity to allow God to deal with these flaws.
