BlastOff!!!

Finally! BlastOff has started. We're into the fourth week of the competition now. There were ten bands when we started, now there's only 5 bands left. The competition is getting tougher every week. Every band is improving, n its gettin freakin hard to compete! Well, we're giving our best... hopefully the votes that we get will b enough to at least get us to the finals. The picture above is from our first performance. That pic was out in the Malay Mail. So far, we've been gettin' good reviews from the papers n magazines, as well as the judges n Astro's staff. So, the pressure is on us to keep moving upward n maintain the good impression that we've portrait to the judges, press, and viewers. If we screw up even once, there goes our rep. I've been super bz... I'm working on the night shift this month... I work on sundays till wednesdays, then BlastOff's soundcheck n the show itself is from thursdays to Saturdays, a minimum of 12 hours a day. Its really tiring. But i love it!! Dreamt bout this bout 9 years ago, n its finally comin true... hahaha.... Thank God! It’s truly God's favour that's gettin us through. We've made it a point to pray together every single time before we go on stage, be it soundcheck, rehearsal, or the real thing.

These are the three factors we need in order to make it in this competition: 1) We need full support from fans during the live show; 2) We need the judges to be impressed; 3) we need the votes to keep us in.

If we managed to get all three factors, we’ll be remembered. Well, on the first week, we conquered all three factors… The crowd was there… everyone came to support… family, frens, etc…. Secondly, the judges were totally impressed; n finally the votes were strong. We’ve also experienced that the second and third week. But after our third week’s performance, we’re loosing out on one factor, which is votes. I’m afraid that the crowd may be reduced this week too. If that happens, we’re screwed. Aunty Mable’s is known for their craziness on stage as well as their HUGE crowd. Every week, our crowd conquers the arena. If this week, that drops, we’ll be dyin’ slowly. Well, we’re doin our best in inviting n callin up ppl to come. The third week, we had the largest crowd ever… This is coz the crowd mainly consisted of ppl we didn’t even know… which is a good thing.
The regular attendees for our shows (these guys are there every week; rain or shine) are, my parents, Keith’s family (cousins n all), our high school frens (kainge), Hermann n his boys, Andrew’s ppl, Dwayne’s family n frens… On behalf of Aunty Mable’s, I would like to thank you guys from the bottom of our hearts for your support. Really appreciate it. Keep on comin guys!!
The best part is, we don’t even need to call this guys up or remind them, or even beg them to be there… they’re there no matter wat goes down! Oh, n they surprise us every week with new banners, n new ppl that they bring along! You guys ROCK!!!!!

For those of you who have been tryin’ your best to make it, but due to certain reasons, you couldn’t make it, no worries I totally understand… I juz hope that at least before the show ends or we get kicked out, you would at least be there ONCE. ( This is for you... not the below one k... hehehe)

Then there’s this other group that doesn’t really FEEL like coming, or feel that they could do better things with their time instead of comin down to watch their “so called” close frens play; oh n they’re like close buddies by the way, not some distant group of friends; well, good for you. Your “awesome support” is much appreciated!!! If you were to ask me, why r u so emo bout this… Well… ehmmm… Have you thought this through? Its not some freakin battle of the bands or some pub performance u know… IT’s on FREAKIN TV for heaven’s sake! If it ain’t that big ‘a deal, it won’t be on NATIONAL TV!! It has to be on some level to b out on TV rite??? This is freakin huge!!! Have you made it to national tv???? No???? Then how come this ain’t big enough to deserve your support!!! This shows how important we are to you guys! This competition may not b as important to you, as it may b to us, but u should realize how important YOU GUYS are to us! N the fact that your support would mean more to us than winning this thing! Well, anyway, juz so u know, if you guys were in blastoff, or some other thing, I would not find EXCUSES not to be there, but rather I would make WAYS to come n support every single time I can ( and you know I would!!).Let me make this clear, If we honestly SUCK, then by all means, dun watch, support, cheer, or vote for us! But if we entertained you, then do the necessary…

Anywayz, getting back to the shows… our first & second show was very emotional coz the bands that went out were our really close buddies from east Malaysia… We really miss them. We’ve become really close throughout the months coz we’ve been spending like a lot of time together. They’re awesome musicians. We still do keep in touch n I’m thankful for that. The second week, we played a slow number, as a tribute to our friends who were taken out of the competition, as their flight was after the show. They were there in the front row supporting us n other bands as well before they left… N they were like so sad all… It was all hugs n kisses n juz a whole lotta emotions after we played the song…Well, juz wanna wish them all the best, n keep on rockin, guys!!!We’re comin over soon for rainforest festival!! YAY!! We’ll get to hang out like crazy then… Can’t wait!!

Well, that’s all for now… Here are some pics of the shows n our buddies!!
